About

Strengthening creative youth development — together, across borders.

GCCYD is an emerging hub for the people and programs advancing creative youth development worldwide.

Why we exist

Creative youth development brings young people together with skilled adults to learn, create, and contribute through the arts and creative practice. Around the world, talented practitioners do this work — often in isolation, with too few resources and too little recognition.

The Global Centre for Creative Youth Development™ exists to close that gap: to connect the field, move knowledge where it is needed, and make the case for greater investment in young people's creative lives.

Our Approach

Local roots, global reach.

We don't impose models or scale programs from the top down. We create the conditions for mutual learning, organic exchange, and locally-appropriate innovation — honoring cultural context and community wisdom in every setting.

Global perspective, local rootedness Knowledge as shared resource Cultural humility Connection over competition Youth-centered practice Excellence through exchange
"Our work is to help people, organizations, and communities thrive — by increasing equitable access, participation, and innovation in creative youth development."
— Denise Montgomery, Founder
